This year’s advance tax collection shows a steady increase from the previous year, rising from Rs 148 crore to Rs 152.96 crore during the same period last year. The collection across various city zones reflects growth in all areas, with the highest revenue of Rs 72 crore coming from the west zone, followed by Rs 48 crore from the central zone and Rs 32 crore from the east zone.
The tax recovery branch has urged all property owners within the municipal limits to take advantage of ongoing rebate schemes before deadlines pass. Taxpayers have until May 31 to claim a 10% discount for general taxpayers and a 15% discount for female property owners. For payments made between June 1 and June 30, 2026, the discount will adjust to 5% for general taxpayers and 10% for female property owners.
