GURUGRAM: On Wednesday, the enforcement wing of the Town and Country Planning Department (DTCP) conducted a sealing and demolition drive throughout the city.
The operation targeted unauthorized structures at various residential and commercial properties, supported by local police from the Sector 50 police station. Actions taken included the demolition of an internal wall and an unauthorized vendor stall, as well as sealing a servant room.
Authorities confirmed that proper legal procedures were followed before any demolition and sealing occurred, with notices issued accordingly. These actions were initiated in response to multiple complaints received through various grievance channels.
At the Universal Trade Tower in Sector 49, officials demolished an unauthorized internal wall built in a common area of the commercial complex, which was later sealed. The enforcement team noted that this structure did not have prior approval and violated building regulations.
Similarly, at Uppal Southend, an unauthorized vendor stall was removed after complaints were filed with the Human Rights Commission and other public platforms. The operation was carried out with police presence to prevent any potential law and order issues.
In Aspen Greens, located within Nirwana Country, officials sealed an illegal servant room established in the stilt area of a residential block. This action followed a complaint lodged via the CM Window portal, revealing that the construction was in violation of approved plans for common and stilt areas in residential societies.
Officials involved in the effort expressed concern over rising encroachments and unauthorized constructions in common areas and commercial spaces throughout Gurgaon. They emphasized that such structures not only contravene development regulations but also pose safety risks and inconvenience to residents and visitors.
The team has cautioned property owners and occupants against engaging in illegal constructions or encroachments. They assured that similar operations will continue in the upcoming weeks, driven by complaints and field inspections of the city.
Residents from several communities showed support for the actions taken, pointing out that unauthorized modifications in common areas often lead to conflicts, impede free movement, and misuse shared spaces. Authorities encouraged citizens to report illegal constructions through official complaint channels for prompt action.
