Telangana Unveils First Land Registration with Survey Map

HYDERABAD: In a significant move to modernise land records and minimize property disputes, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the government is safeguarding farmers’ land rights through reforms introduced under the Bhu Bharati land portal.

The initiative provides permanent land rights supported by a survey map and Bhudhar number, offering farmers confidence and security about their future.

On Tuesday, the first land registration utilizing a survey map was successfully completed in Kusumanchi mandal, Khammam district. The minister remarked that the integrated Bhu Bharati portal would be a national model.

In Kusumanchi, farmer Bhagam Kishan Rao from Motapuram village sold 1 acre and 4 guntas of land (survey number 156/E/1) to Katta Venkateswara Rao, also from the same village. The transaction was registered at the Kusumanchi tahsildar office, complete with a map indicating land boundaries. The tahsildar issued land map-1 and a Bhudhar number (795GCHDCUPJ7H0) for this transaction.

The government is committed to gradually implementing this system statewide to provide a permanent resolution to land disputes.

Pilot Project in 5 Mandals

The minister shared that the Bhu Bharati land portal consolidates the survey and registration departments into a single system. The pilot project commenced on April 2 in five mandals: Kosgi (Narayanpet district), Kusumanchi (Khammam), Aswaraopeta (Bhadradri Kothagudem), Amangal (Rangareddy), and Vatpalli (Sangareddy).

The Bhu Bharati Act mandates the inclusion of a survey map during registration. Individuals can apply voluntarily for a survey certificate concerning their property, currently being implemented in the five pilot mandals.
