NEW DELHI: Shree Cement, Ansal Housing, and Kesoram Industries have received tax-related orders from authorities, with the companies planning to contest these demands.

Shree Cement has been issued a service tax demand order of ₹8.31 crore from the Commissioner of Central GST and Central Excise in Jodhpur. This order, dated April 16, 2026, includes applicable interest and an equivalent penalty.

The demand is related to alleged non-payment of service tax. Shree Cement disagrees with the findings and intends to appeal before the appropriate tribunal within the required timeline. The company does not expect any significant financial impact from this order.

Meanwhile, Ansal Housing has received an assessment order and demand notice for ₹19.20 crore from the Income Tax Department for the assessment year 2024-25. This demand results from additions and disallowances linked to expenses, differences in income recognition, and other adjustments discovered during the assessment.

Ansal Housing is currently working on filing an appeal and does not anticipate any immediate effects on its financials or operations.

In a separate instance, Kesoram Industries has seen a reduction in its earlier income tax demand from ₹70.54 crore to ₹6.03 crore for the assessment year 2024-25 after a review by the authorities. The company is assessing further legal options regarding the remaining demand and believes this matter will not materially affect its operations.
