HYDERABAD: The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TG-RERA) has established a Public Grievance and Guidance Cell aimed at improving stakeholder engagement and enhancing grievance resolution mechanisms across the state.
Launched on Thursday at the Administrative Staff College of India in Hyderabad, this initiative aligns with national discussions and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs’ recommendations for better grievance handling.
“The PGGC is designed to bolster grievance redressal and enhance engagement among stakeholders in the real estate sector throughout the state,” TG-RERA Chairman N Satyanarayana stated in an official press release.
The Cell will provide guidance to stakeholders regarding their rights and responsibilities while facilitating grievance resolution and promoting awareness and compliance under RERA, according to Satyanarayana.
The Real Estate Regulation and Development Act of 2016 aims to promote transparency, accountability, efficacy, and protect homebuyers, though concerns persist regarding delays, communication, and non-implementation challenges, he added.
The PGGC acts as a citizen-focused platform that provides trustworthy information, helps minimize disputes, assists in filing complaints, and gathers feedback on emerging issues for policy development.
Targeting homebuyers specifically, the Cell simplifies regulations, aids in project verification, provides guidance on due diligence, and ensures that stakeholders are informed about their rights including timely possession, refunds, and compensation.
Moreover, the Cell offers support to promoters, landowners, and agents by clarifying compliance requirements, registration processes, and disclosures, thereby fostering professionalism and aiding institutions in coordination and verification efforts, as per the Chairman.
The PGGC operates with a well-structured team comprising a lead officer, desk officers, a communications specialist, and assistants to ensure effective operations, outreach, and engagement across Telangana.
