Kolhapur Offers 80% Rebate on Property Tax and Water Penalties

KOLHAPUR: The Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has announced an 80% rebate on penalties for property tax and late water bill fees, applicable to defaulters who settle all outstanding amounts, including the current bill, in one payment. This rebate scheme is effective from March 26 to 31, with all Citizen Facilitation Centers operating during holidays from March 28 to 31, 2026.

The KMC confirmed that this rebate applies to both residential and non-residential properties for payments made between March 26 and 31, 2026, as per the resolution passed by the general body and directives from Mayor Rouparani Nikam, with the approval of Municipal Commissioner K. Manjulekshmi.

Property owners with unpaid taxes from the current financial year are also eligible for the benefits of this scheme.

KMC Public Relations Officer Mohan Suryawanshi advised residents to settle their dues promptly to prevent penalties, such as a 2% fee on outstanding amounts, property seizure, or lien on assets, as outlined in the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act. All civic amenities centers will operate during holidays from March 28 to 31. Payments can also be made online via the KMC website at kolhapurcorporation.gov.in and on its Android mobile app.
