LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) has given the green light to eight new projects in the warehousing and logistics sector, with a total investment of approximately Rs 800 crore, as stated by an official spokesperson on Monday.

“These approvals, under the Uttar Pradesh Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022, demonstrate increasing investor confidence in the sector, fueled by incentives, financial aid, and tax exemptions for establishing logistics and storage facilities on private land,” the spokesperson mentioned.

The newly approved projects comprise five silos, two warehousing units, and one logistics project, which will be situated in Unnao, Auraiya, Balrampur, Shravasti, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Hapur. These initiatives are anticipated to enhance the agricultural and industrial supply chain within the state.

To date, UPSIDA has sanctioned 61 projects under the Warehousing and Logistics Policy-2022 and the PIP policy, which collectively propose investments exceeding Rs 12,900 crore across around 810 acres.

Officials noted that these projects will bolster safe storage capacities for foodgrains, offer improved warehousing and logistics support to farmers, and expedite the development of multi-modal logistics hubs, warehouse clusters, and modern distribution centers. They are also expected to generate significant employment opportunities.
