Yamuna Authority Plans 500 Acres for Japan and Singapore Cities

LUCKNOW: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has submitted a proposal to the state government for the development of Japan City and Singapore City along the Yamuna Expressway, officials reported on Thursday.

YEIDA CEO R K Singh stated that the proposal, sent on February 18, notified the state’s Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner about the identified land for these projects within the authority’s jurisdiction.

He also mentioned that the authority has developed a land acquisition plan for both initiatives.

Singh highlighted that this information was requested in light of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s upcoming official visits to Japan and Singapore, which prompted the authority to designate appropriate land for Japan City and Singapore City.

The proposal designates Sector 5A and Sector 7 in Greater Noida for the developments.

Under the authority’s master plan, both sectors are classified as multi-purpose industrial zones, with at least 70% of the land assigned for industrial use.

“The proposal indicates that these sectors can be developed into integrated industrial townships,” he noted.

The plan allocates approximately 500 acres in Sector 5A for Japan City, with an additional 500 acres set aside in Sector 7 for Singapore City.
