3,400 Bighas Allocated for Chandigarh City Project in Baddi

SHIMLA: A total of 3,428 bighas of land has been earmarked for residential development in the proposed Him Chandigarh City at Baddi, located in the Solan district. Additionally, around 5,000-6,000 bighas from the common pool have also been identified for the project.

This information was disclosed during a cabinet sub-committee meeting held on Thursday, led by Himachal Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, which aimed to assess the progress of the Him Chandigarh City initiative. Housing and Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani was also present.

Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma provided a comprehensive update on land availability and revenue records during the meeting. Following a thorough review by the revenue minister, it was noted that the Himachal Pradesh Housing and Urban Development Authority (HIMUDA) plans to conduct a drone survey to digitally map the identified land parcels.

Furthermore, HIMUDA, in conjunction with the revenue department and relevant tehsildars, will initiate land consolidation. This process is anticipated to be completed within a month, resulting in a single, consolidated land parcel prepared for the project.
