AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Municipal Minister P Narayana announced on Tuesday that 7,000 out of the total 66,000 returnable plots designated for farmers who contributed land for the new capital city of Amaravati remain unregistered. He mentioned that farmers are currently registering between 30 to 60 plots daily.

“Only 7,000 plots are yet to be registered out of 66,000. Farmers are actively registering between 30 to 60 returnable plots each day,” Narayana stated in a press release.

He also highlighted that 1,891 plots, involving 450 farmers, are caught in family disputes. The government has made arrangements to facilitate the registration of up to 1,000 plots each day.

During a visit to Amaravati, Narayana encouraged farmers to register their plots. He assured them that essential infrastructure, including drainage and road facilities, would be completed within a couple of years.

The minister also promised that the seed access road would soon connect to Mangalagiri Road and indicated that further land pooling would be undertaken as necessary for future projects.

He emphasized that, with the exception of Zones 8 and 11, where returnable plots were allocated, construction work is progressing well across all 29 villages in Amaravati. On November 28, the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved the second phase of the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS), covering 16,666 acres, which aims to enhance the existing 54,000-acre Amaravati land bank. Of this, 34,281 acres were pooled from 29,881 farmers across 29 villages.
